The reaction isperformed on easily accessible p-bromodienone derivatives which undergo a subsequent re-aromatization to give p- or m-substituted compounds.In this presentation we report the results of a study on the extension of this procedure to theselective functionalization at the exo rim of calix[6]arene derivatives. lt was found thatcalix[6]arene p-bromodienone derivatives are of general accessibility and can be used for a silvermediated nucleophilic substitution with different nucleophiles. Representative examples of exo rim-substituted calix[6]arenes were prepared in workable yields by reaction with different alcohols asO-nucleophiles and activated aromatic rings as C-nucleophiles, confirming the potentialities of thep-bromodienone route.c à t i xl6l aMè È Arcmodíércn DúvatvesFigure l.
