The idea of The Commission of National Education in textbooks and school system after 1945

Abstract

The aim of the paper is showing the idea of The Commission of National Education as one of the elements existing in historical narration in the school system after the World War II. It is not my intention to describe either the changes going in the system of education in Poland or the changes in the historical education as it is a separate research problem. The descriptions presented in the paper are not sufficient to exhaust the problem as it will require extending them with the decision making process influencing a particular inscription in the course book. It was different in Stalin times and it was dramatically different at the end of the 20th century. Developing those issues extends the frames of the paper. Similarly, the same refers to the problem of the origins of course book authors, publishers‘ policy, etc., which have great influence on the final look of the book
