Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine 131 studies on “Climate Change and Education” published in Web of Science between 2002-2025 (until March 17, 2025) and to reveal the general picture in the last 24 years. In this study, the general survey model, one of the survey type models, was used. All studies in the Web of Science database covering the subject of “Climate Change and Education” were analyzed. According to the results of the analysis conducted in the study, it was revealed that the most publications were primarily in 2022 and 2021. The most common type of publication in the study is article, the most used language is English, the most used language is English, the country with the most studies is the USA, the research area with the
most publications is “Educational Research”, the most WoS category of publications is “Educational Research”, It has been revealed that the most publications on this subject took place in “3rd International Sustainable Buildings Symposium (ISBS)” congress, the most publications on this subject took place in “Inted Proceedings”, “Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering” and “Shs Web of Conferences” books, the most publications were published by “Springer Nature” and “Taylor & Francis“ publishing house, and the most publications were found in “Sustainability” and “International Research in Geographical and Environmental Education” journals. It was revealed that the most studies in this field were carried out by “Middle East Technical University”, “Ankara University” and “Boğaziçi University”, the departments of the institutions where the most publications were made were “Middle East Technical University Faculty of Education”, and the most studies were in “SCI” and then “SSCI” in WoS indexes. It was revealed that the researcher who conducted the most studies on this subject was “Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hakkı Aydoğdu” and that the studies conducted in this field were mostly in the category of “Climate Actions” and “Qualified Education” among the sustainable development goals.Bu araştırmanın amacı “İklim Değişikliği ve Eğitim” konusunda Web of Science’ta 2002-2025 (17 Mart 2025’e kadar) yılları arasında yayımlanan 131 çalışmayı inceleyerek son 24 yıldaki genel tabloyu ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu araştırmada tarama türü modellerinden genel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada Web of Science veri tabanında yer alan ve “İklim Değişikliği ve Eğitim” konusunu kapsayan tüm çalışmalar ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada yapılan analiz sonuçlarına göre öncelikli olarak en fazla yayının 2022 ve 2021 yıllarında olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Çalışma neticesinde en çok yayın türünün makale, en çok kullanılan dilin İngilizce, en fazla çalışma yapılan ülkenin ABD ve en çok yayının yer aldığı araştırma alanının “Eğitim Araştırmaları” olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca yayınların en fazla WoS kategorisinden “Eğitim Araştırmaları”, bu konuda en fazla yayının “3rd International Sustainable Buildings Symposium (ISBS)” kongresinde yer aldığı, bu konuda en fazla yayının “Inted Proceedings”, “Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering” ve “Shs Web of Conferences” kitaplarında yer aldığı, yine en çok yayının “Springer Nature” ve “Taylor & Francis” yayın evi tarafından yayımlandığı, en çok yayının “Sustainability” ve “International Research in Geographical and Environmental Education” dergilerinde yer aldığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu alanda en fazla çalışmanın “Ortadoğu Teknik Üniversitesi”, “Ankara Üniversitesi” ve “Boğaziçi Üniversitesi” tarafından yapıldığı, yayınların en fazla yapıldığı kurum departmalarının ise “Ortadoğu Teknik Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi” olduğu görülmüştür. Yine en çok çalışmanın WoS indekslerinde “SCI” ve sonrasında “SSCI”da olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu konuda en fazla çalışma yapan araştırmacının “Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hakkı Aydoğdu” olduğu ve bu alanda yapılmış çalışmaların sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedeflerinden en fazla “İklim Eylemleri” ve “Nitelikli Eğitim” kategorisinde yer aldığı ortaya çıkmıştır
