Abstract

The Goal of The World Justice Project (WJP) is to advance the rule of law around the world. To be effective rule of law development requires clarity about the fundamental features of the rule of law as well as an adequate basis for its evaluation and measurement. The Index presents a portrait of the rule of law in over 100 countries through a set of 47 indicators organized around nine themes: constraints on government powers; absence of corruption; open government; fundamental rights; order and security; regulatory enforcement; civil justice; criminal justice; informal justice. The WJP Rule of Law Index 2014 is the fourth report in an annual series and it's the world's most comprehensive data set of its kind
