(a) Dengan menggunakan gambarajah blok, terangkan konsep asas sistem komunikasi elektronik.    By using the block diagram, explain the basic concept of an electronic communication system  (20 markah/marks)   (b) Sebuah pemancar beroperasi pada frekuensi 30 MHz. Sekiranya antena yang digunakan adalah antena suku gelombang, hitung panjang antena tersebut dalam meter. Anggapkan kelajuan cahaya adalah 3×108 m/s.  A transmitter operating at a frequency of 30 MHz. If the antenna that been used is a quarter wave antenna, calculate the antenna length in meters. Assume the speed of light is 3×108 m/s. (10 markah/marks)   (c) Sistem komunikasi frekuensi tinggi beroperasi dari julat frekuensi 10 MHz ke 30 MHz. Apakah lebar jalur bagi sistem tersebut.  A high frequency communication system operating in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 30 MHz. What is the bandwidth of the system. (10 markah/marks)   (d) Apakah mod pemancaran bagi sebuah telefon bimbit dan walkie-talkie. What is the transmission mode for the handphone and the walkie-talkie. (10 markah/marks)     …3/- - 3  -     [EEE 332]    (e) Transistor BJT beroperasi pada suhu 35 Celcius digunakan untuk penguat yang beroperasi dari 10 kHz ke 30 kHz. Hitung kuasa hingar termal dalam Watts dan dBm. Pekali Boltzmann adalah 1.3806488×10-23 m2 kg s-2 K-1.  A BJT transistor operating at 35 Celcius is used for amplifier operating from 10 kHz to 30 kHz. Calculate the thermal noise in Watts and dBm. Boltzmann constant is 1.3806488×10-23 m2 kg s-2 K-1. (20 markah/marks)   (f) Sebuah penguat mempunyai gandaan sebanyak 30 dB dan isyarat masukan penguat tersebut adalah 2 mW sementara isyarat masukan hingar adalah -60 dBm. Hitung nisbah isyarat kepada hingar (S/N) bagi masukan dan keluaran penguat tersebut.  An amplifier has a gain of 30 dB and the input signal power is 2 mW while the input noise power is -60 dBm. Calculate the noise figure for the system in Figure 2. Berapakah jalur sisi yang akan terhasil?  Based on the wave equation of the information signal (Equation 1) and carrier signal (Equation 2), derive the wave equation for amplitude modulation. How many resulting sidebands? Hitung frekuensi pembawa, frekuensi maklumat, kuasa yang dipancarkan, indeks pemodulatan, sisihan frekuensi dan lebarjalur. Sensitiviti sisihan adalah 2 kHz/V.   FM transmitter having the signal of  v = 5cos(62.831066t + 3sin18.84103t) using a 50  antenna. Calculate the carrier frequency, information frequency, transmitted power, modulation index, frequency deviation and bandwidth. Deviation sensitivity is 2 kHz/V. (40 markah/marks)   (c) Merujuk kepada Rajah 3, hitung indek pemodulatan bagi isyarat AM tersebut.   Referring to Figure 3, calculate the modulation index of that AM signal. Berapakah kuasa pembawa?  Sekiranya pembawa ditindas sebelum pemancaran dilakukan, apakah peratus penjimatan kuasa.   When the percentage of modulation for the AM signal is 60%, the transmitter produces 5 kW. How much is the carrier power? If the carrier is suppressed before the transmission took place, what would be the percentage power saving. (30 markah/marks)        Bahagian B : Jawab DUA (2) soalan Section B : Answer TWO (2) question  4. (a) Diberikan bahawa sumber menghasilkan data perduaan "1 1 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 1 ........". Isyarat termodulat dari segi dalam fasa (I) dan Kuadratur (Q) komponen adalah seperti yang ditunjukkan dalam Rajah 4 di bawah   Given that a source producing binary data of “1 1 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 1……..”. Rekabentuk PCM jalur sistem komunikasi yang membolehkan untuk pengekodan (dengan bit terendah yang mungkin), penghantaran dan menyahkod data. Figure 5 shows an input analog signal. Design a PCM baseband communication system that enable for encoding (with the lowest bits as possible), transmission and decoding of the data. Suppose that a source produces messages that are all equally likely, design a system whereby the source produces EIGHT possible messages.   [Petunjuk: Anda perlu memberi contoh sumber tertentu. Kemudian hasilkan tiga kolum yang menunjukkan kesemua lapan mesej mungkin (dalam satu kolum), kebarangkalian yang dikaitkan dengan berlakunya mesej (dalam satu kolum), maklumat yang terkandung di dalam setiap mesej tertentu (dalam satu kolum)]. Then produce a FOUR columns table that indicate all possible eight messages (in one column), related time, in another column the probability associated to the occurrences of that message, the information contained in each particular message (in another column), calculate the entropy of the source, and calculate the information rate for the system].
