Carlos Augusto Schettini is a professor from the Oceanographic Institute at the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), Brazil, where he teaches courses in coastal physical oceanography and data analysis using open-source tools. His main scientific interests are hydrodynamics and scalar transport processes in estuaries and continental shelves, using various techniques such as data collection instruments, remote sensing, and numerical modeling.  With more than two decades of academic and scientific contributions, he has taught and conducted research at leading Brazilian universities, including UNIVALI, UFC, UFPE, and currently at FURG. He has coordinated and participated in numerous national and international projects addressing critical issues such as climate change, sediment dynamics, and marine ecosystem resilience.
