Regulation of GR-dependent transcription by BTG1

Abstract

Apoptosis is a form of cellular suicide activated by intracellular death programs, and is important for normal development and homeostasis. Glucocorticoids (GCs) are known inducers of human T-lymphoid cell apoptosis, and serve as therapeutic agents in leukemia. GCs primarily function by activating a nuclear glucocorticoid receptor (GR) within the cell, which in tum regulates the transcription of target genes.
