Iranian women's beliefs and attitudes towards divorce

Abstract

This qualitative study examined 10 Iranian Women's beliefs and attitudes on divorce. All participants reside in the Greater Los Angeles area and range in age from 24 to 48. Through an interview process, this study explored how much emphasis traditional cultural values have on Iranian American women's perceptions of divorce. This study suggests that age, length of residency in the United States, religiosity and level of acculturation are factors that affect attitudes on divorce.California State University, Northridge.
