Cooperation between the sphere of science and business is perceived in terms of one of the fundamental factors of economic development. With this in mind, the article presents arguments for its adoption, focusing in particular on cooperation that is reflected in the creation and functioning of post-graduate studies. Potential benefits for both cooperating parties were discussed. At the same time, efforts were made to signal the challenges faced by scientists and representatives of the business world considering taking up the indicated form of cooperation. In the empirical part of the article, attention is paid in particular to the activities undertaken in connection with the creation and functioning of postgraduate studies in the field of occupational health and safety in the EU in Wrocław.Współpraca między sferą nauki i biznesu jest postrzegana w kategoriach jednego z zasadniczych czynników rozwoju gospodarki. Mając to na uwadze, w artykule przedstawiono argumenty przemawiające za jej podejmowaniem, koncentrując się w szczególności na współpracy znajdującej wyraz w powoływaniu i funkcjonowaniu studiów podyplomowych. Omówiono potencjalne korzyści dla obu współpracujących stron. Starano się przy tym zasygnalizować wyzwania, jakie stoją przed naukowcami oraz przedstawicielami świata biznesu rozważającymi podjęcie wskazanej formy współpracy.
