The purpose of the paper is to present the issue of values in the process of investing in historic properties (heritage). Historic properties are objects that are characterized mostly by historical, artistic and scientific values and for this reason, they are very valuable, so they require preservation for the future generations.
Their protection is possible due to investment processes whose one of the main goals is to expose and strengthen these values. In the market economy, an important factor, and for some investors, the only one is the economic calculation, and the decision criterion is the rate of return. In the process of investment in heritage, all values mentioned, that are important for both the investor and society should be considered.
