Comprehensive management of closed abdominal trauma in the emergency service according to the ATLS guide (advanced life support in trauma) at the Manta General Hospital during the period March 2020 - March 2021.

Abstract

El Hospital General Manta según las políticas del Ministerio de Salud Pública, es un hospital de segundo nivel de alta complejidad, y en sus competencias está el brindar atención al trauma en la zona centro y sur de Manabí. El trauma abdominal tiene una morbimortalidad significativa, ya que las lesiones abdominales representan entre el 20 y el 35% de las causas de muerte en el traumatizado. El principal objetivo de este estudio es conocer el manejo del trauma abdominal cerrado en dicho hospital e identificar errores que se cometen basándose en las normas del ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support). Es importante la identificación de estos errores, ya que al reconocerlos y mejorarlos se pueden obtener resultados favorables para el paciente.The Manta General Hospital, according to the policies of the Ministry of Public Health, is a highly complex second level hospital, and within its powers is to provide trauma care in the central and southern areas of Manabí. Abdominal trauma has a significant morbidity and mortality, since abdominal injuries represent between 20 and 35% of the causes of death in trauma patients. The main objective of this study is to know the management of blunt abdominal trauma in said hospital and to identify errors that are made based on the ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) standards. It is important to identify these errors, since by recognizing and improving them favorable results can be obtained for the patient
