Kadına yönelik şiddetle ilgili uluslararası sözleşmelerin ilgili hükümleri,
bu alanda faaliyet gösteren sivil toplum örgütlerinin yapmış oldukları çalışmalar
ve akademik araştırmalar kadına yönelik şiddetle mücadele etkili ve yeterli
destek hizmetlerinin sunulmasında rol oynayan, koruyucu ve önleyici bir
mekanizmaya sahip kurumsal yapılara dikkat çekmiştir. Bu kapsamda, 6284
sayılı Ailenin Korunması ve Kadına Karşı Şiddetin Önlenmesine Dair Kanun’da
Şiddet Önleme ve İzleme Merkezlerinin kurulması kararlaştırılmıştır. Bu
çalışmamızda, Şiddet Önleme ve İzleme Merkezlerinin (ŞÖNİM) şiddetle
mücadelede edindiği role değinilerek, ŞÖNİM’ in faaliyetleri, çalışma esasları
ve uygulamada karşılaşılan sorunlara yer verilmiştir.The relevant provisions of the international conventions on violence

against violence against women. In this context, it was decided to establish
Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers in the Law No. 6284 on the
Protection of the Family and the Prevention of Violence Against Women. In
this study the role of Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers in combating
violence is mentioned and the activities, working principles and problems
encountered in Practice of ŞÖNİM are given.
