The reactions between Schiff base ligands derived from carbonyl compound and acid hydrazides and [MoO2(acac)2] in the presence of solvent (Alcohol) yielded three dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes with the general formula [MoO2L1-3(Alcohol)] (1-3), where L = tridentate Schiff base ligand. One (complex 1) of the three complexes reported here has been fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-visible and NMR spectroscopy. This study indicates that the hydrazone ligand (e.g., H2L1) has the normal tendency to form monomeric complex coordinated in the form of dianionic tridentate manner
