The article raises the issue of the small presence of archival medieval sources in the publications of Lublin regionalists. The author compares manuscript sources from the Middle Ages to the history of the Lublin region, taking into account where they were stored and how they were made shared. Further on, there is little use of medieval manuscripts in regional publications whose authors are not professional historians. The author gives the reasons for this state of affairs, and then presents the stages and methods of making sources available to the regionalists’ environment, formulating specific postulates about it for the future.W artykule poruszone jest zagadnienie niewielkiej obecności archiwaliów średniowiecznych w pracach lubelskich regionalistów. Autor zestawia rękopiśmienne źródła z epoki średniowiecznej do dziejów Lubelszczyzny, uwzględniając miejsca ich przechowywania oraz sposoby udostępniania. W dalszej części skonstatowany jest niewielki stopień wykorzystania archiwaliów średniowiecznych w publikacjach regionalistycznych, których autorami nie są zawodowi historycy. Autor podaje przyczyny tego stanu rzeczy (bariery), a następnie przedstawia etapy i sposoby udostępniania źródeł środowisku regionalistów, formułując konkretne postulaty na przyszłość
