The article discusses the issue of Polish-Russian negotiations conducted in Nemežis near Vilnius from mid-August to early November 1656. The text was written after a detailed analysis of the correspondence of the Crown-Lithuanian envoys to King John Casimir Vasa and the most important dignitaries of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. This allowed for the reconstruction of the broadest possible picture of the negotiations conducted near Vilnius and the attitude of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth elite towards the agreement with the Muscovite State.W artykule poruszono problematykę pertraktacji polsko-rosyjskich prowadzonych w Niemieży pod Wilnem od połowy sierpnia do początku listopada 1656 roku. Tekst powstał po szczegółowej analizie korespondencji posłów koronno-litewskich do króla Jana Kazimierza Wazy i najważniejszych dygnitarzy Rzeczypospolitej. Pozwoliło to na odtworzenie możliwie najszerszego obrazu negocjacji prowadzonych pod Wilnem oraz postawy elity Rzeczypospolitej wobec porozumienia z Państwem Moskiewskim
