Abstract
It was performed an experimental research type clinical phase II, during the period November 2008 to November 2009 with the objective to evaluate the effectiveness of itamo real jelly at 20% in subprosthesis stomatitis, phases I and II. As the universe, there were taken all of the patients who assisted to the consult and had suffered from this disease during the referred period. The sample consisted on 100 patients who performed the inclusion criteria and expressed their will to participate. There were evaluated some variables: age, sex, clinical degree of the disease, prosthesis hygiene and response to the treatment. The disease prevailed in the female sex and in the etharian group between 61 – 83 years old, the treatment with itamo real jelly showed a total efficiency in the level I of the disease and less effectiveness in the level II.Se realizó un estudio experimental tipo ensayo clínico fase II, en el período comprendido desde Noviembre del 2008 hasta Noviembre 2009 con el objetivo de evaluar la eficacia de la jalea de itamo real al 20 % en la estomatitis subprótesis grados I y II. Se tomó como universo todos los pacientes que acudieron a consulta y padecían la enfermedad estomatitis subprótesis en el período referido. La muestra se fijó en 100 pacientes que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y expresaron su voluntariedad de participación. Se evaluaron las variables: edad, sexo, grado clínico de la enfermedad, higiene de la prótesis y respuesta al tratamiento. Predominó la enfermedad en el sexo femenino y en el grupo etáreo comprendido entre 61-83 años, el tratamiento con la jalea de itamo real demostró eficacia total en el grado de lesión I y menos eficaz en el grado II
