National audienceThe paper presents the study of the lining System of tailings seftling pond. The barner consisted of a PVC geomembrane, protected by a geotextile. Strain measurements were carried out in-situ. Mechanical and analytical testing were performed on samples taken from the site. They allowed to elucidate some aging mechanisms of the geomembrane, exposed to UV and to chemicals for 15 years.L'article presente l'etude du Systeme d'etancheite d'un bassin de decantation de produits chimiques dans un site industriel. L'etancheite etait assuree par une geomembrane PVC, protegee par un geotextile. Des mesures de deformation ont ete realisees in situ. Sur des echantillons preleves, des essais mecaniques et analytiques ont permis d'elucider des mecanismes de vieillissement de la geomembrane, exposee aux UV et au depôt chimique depuis 15 ans
