ANNUAL ISSUE NINE 4140 .RAW JOURNAL OF ART AND DESIGNTuned to the MomentMICHAELA VELLENOFor my project, I set out to explore the theme of music and how people interact with it. This included examining the mental states people experience while listening to music and the various ways they engage with it.Walking on CloudsFRANK COOKE A mountain to sand, an idea to an empire. This world was created by erosion. How does erosion shape our world physically? How does it shape our perception of that physical world? The primary figure of the piece is defined by the intersections of rivers, roads, and other map lines. It represents a geoglyph, one of many ancient supermassive impressions upon the land used for spiritual/religious purposes originating in South America. The geoglyph is animated, walking through a fantastical European cityscape, eroding the distance between two cultures who existed at the same time. The Nazca lines were the oldest, and most prominent geoglyphs. Created in 500 B.C. these specific glyphs inspired many of the forms and atmosphere of this work.
