To precisely predict the impact of the climate change on the carbon cycles at northern high latitudes, better understandings of the present spatial and temporal variations in the GHGs’ sources/sinks and their environmental factors are necessary. For the purpose, continuous measurement of atmospheric CO2, CH4 and CO concentrations has been made at Ny-Ålesund Station, Svalbard (78o56’ N, 11o52’ E) using a cavity ring-down spectroscopy analyzer since September 2013. In this paper, the observed variations in these species on different time scales are shown, and their factors are discussed using trajectory analyses and chemical transport models.  北極域を含む北半球高緯度域には、全球規模炭素循環に影響を与えるソース・シンクが多数存在しており、温暖化の影響で、それらの強度や分布が大きく変動する可能性が指摘されているが、その予測には大きな不確定性を伴っている。将来の変動を高精度に予測するためには、同緯度帯のソース・シンクの時空間分布の実態を把握し、その変動要因を明らかにすることが必要である。これらを踏まえて、GRENE 北極気候変動研究事業の一環として、スバールバル諸島ニーオルスン基地(78o56’ N, 11o52’ E)において、キャビティリングダウンレーザー分光法による大気中二酸化炭素(CO2)、メタン(CH4)、一酸化炭素(CO)濃度の連続観測を 2013年 9月に開始した。 これまでに得られたデータの解析の結果、局所的な陸上生物活動起源の明瞭な日内変動は見られなかった。図 1 に局所的な人為起源の影響を強く受けていると推定されたデータを除去した、各成分の 1 時間平均濃度の変動を示す。各成分とも、数日～半月程度の短い周期の変動を伴いながら、秋～冬にかけて濃度が増加し、春～夏に減少しているのが分かる。しかし、CH4および CO の季節変動と CO2の変動を比較すると、後者の方が位相が遅れており、成分毎のソース・シンクの時空間変動の違いを反映しているものと考えられる。上記短い周期の変動は、多くの場合、各成分でよく対応して起こっているが、秋～初春にかけて変動の振幅が大きく、頻度も多くなっており、春～夏には振幅および頻度が減少している。これらは、起源の異なる気塊が季節毎に異なった経路で輸送されていることを反映しているものと推察される。当日の発表では、後方流跡線解析や化学輸送モデルを用いた解析結果についても報告する予定である。 （謝辞 観測で使用した標準ガスの準備では、国環研の勝又氏、町田氏、遠嶋氏に大変お世話になった。) Figure 1.
