Abstract
En este artículo pretendemos realizar un análisis del tratamiento que los medios de
comunicación le dieron a las informaciones de la banda terrorista ETA y a la fotografía
que la prensa utiliza para acompañar a este tipo de noticias. Se pretende aportar
conclusiones sobre cuáles son los límites de la libertad de expresión desde el punto de
vista del respeto a la intimidad, y en este caso el respeto al dolor. Se trata de buscar un
punto de equilibrio entre el derecho de los ciudadanos a ser informados y el derecho de
las víctimas a la intimidad.The aim of this article is to analyse how the media treated information related to the
terrorist group Eta and the way photography was used to show this type of news to the
general public. It was intended to provide conclusions about freedom of expression in
terms of privacy boundaries and in this particular case this lack of boundaries related to
the pain and suffering of the victims’ families. It is about finding a balance between the
right of the citizens to be informed and the right of the victims to be respected
