Planteamos en el siguiente trabajo una revisión del denominado
timiaterio de Punta del Nao (Cádiz) atendiendo a sus aspectos iconográficos.
Dicho análisis nos permite adentrarnos en algunas cuestiones vinculadas
a su funcionalidad: contexto de uso, rituales a los que está destinado y
divinidad a la que se dirigen éstos. Pero, a la vez, se adelantan hipótesis de
trabajo susceptibles de ser aplicadas en otros contextos cultuales del Sur
peninsular o el mundo colonial.The following essay offers a study of the so-called thymiaterion from
Punta del Nao (Cádiz) according to its iconographic aspects. This analysis
allows us to investigate some questions regarding the function of the
thymiaterion: in which context it would have been used, the rituals it was
destined for and the deity to which it was dedicated. Moreover at the same time
we put forward theories, that could be applied in other ceremonial contexts in
