' dual degree master of health science/ doctor of health science This accelerated dua l~degree program is designed for accomplished, motivated health care practition ers educated at the bachelor's leve( who desire a clinically; applicable, pos t~profess i onal in terdisciplinary doctoral degree, The program is specifically appropriate for those practitioners who have a strong de-sire to teach within the health disciplines at the graduate leve l or assume advanced profess ional and instirutionalleaciership ro les with in the health care delivery system. The combined M.H.Sc./D.H.Sc. provides rigorous academic exposure to a wide range of topics pertinent to clinicians, health administrators, and health professions educa-rors, including epidemiology, health care finance, statistics and research methods, conflict resolution, leadership srudies, professional writing, health policy, global heal th issues, evidence~based medicine, medical informatics, and medical quality assurance/risk management. Students have the opportunity to engage in internships within their home community and capstone research experiences. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experience to expand their professional roles in both clinical and non~clinica l arenas . Study is primar-ily non-residential and utilizes s tate~of~ the-a rt online course platforms that permit synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. Swdenrs are required to attend two one-week on-campus institutes dllfing the doc-toral portion of their studies. This accelerated track permits the motivated student to earn both a master's and doctoral degree, with 80 credit hours, from a respected, regionally-accredited research institution within 3-7 years of study. m.h.sc./d.h.sc. accelerated program facts • Both programs can be completed in 3-7 years • Total combined semester hours: 80 • 20 hours are completed in the M.H.Sc. program • 60 hours are completed in me D.H.Sc. program • M.H.Sc. degree awarded after completion of 42 credit hours • M.H.Sc. tuition, $275 per credit hour • D.H.Se. tuition, $475 per credit hour • M.H.Sc. courses are all taught at a distance • Summer inst itutes on campus required for D. Prior to matriculation, applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. 2. Applicants should have earned a cumulative baccalaureate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 3. Prior health care experience is required. The dual M.H.Sc./D.H.5e. program is a post profess ional degree des igned for health practitioners and c linic ians from a wide variety of disc iplines. 4 .
