Lab (2) Off-Campus Practicum (2) K-12; Off-Campus (2) You Can Become a Professional Speech and Language Pathologist MASTER'S PROGRAM IN SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY Nova's Master of Science Degree Program with a major in Speech and Language Pathology, offered through the Center for the Advancement of Education , was designed to provide the necessary course work and clinical experience for persons who wish to obtain Florida licensure in Speech and Language Pathology and who wish to prepare for the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHAI. Courses are approved by the Florida Stale Department of Education for certification in Speech Correction. Classes are held at Nova University's Davie campus late afternoons and Saturdays. There are also programs at Ft. Pierce, Ft. Myers, and Miami. Supervised, clinical experience is available through the Communication Disorders Center (CDC) and at off-campus clinical sites. The Communication Disorders Center is part of the Ralph J . Baudhuin Oral School of Nova University and is located on the main campus of Nova University . The clinic provides language and speech diagnostic and remedial services , audiological evaluations and hearing aid assessments. Services are available to clients of all ages and wi th all communication disorders , including Articulation, Language, Voice, Fluency, Hea ring Impairment (lip reading/auditory training). In addition to the services provided through the Communication Disorders Center, comprehensive evaluations, including psycho -educational testing, are provided in conjunction with the Family Center of Nova University . ASHA certified speech-language pathologists supervise students in a wide variety of off-campus clinical settings, providing services to all age groups and communicative disabilities . Nova Cniversity is affiliated with hospital s, rehabilitation centers, schools and pri vale practices in Broward, Dade , and Palm Beach Counties .
