This paper presents a mathematical apparatus for determining the parameters of nonlinear electromechanical system, represented by
piecewise linear functions on the basis of the harmonic approximation in conjunction with the energy method. It is shown that the use of the energy method based on the instantaneous power balance equations for each harmonic is effective in identification problems. The possibility of using the energy method applied to the identification of parameters of non-linearity of the "zone of saturation" has been considered. It is shown that this approach is based on the balance of power of the elements of the source and the consumer at each harmonic allows us to get the required number of equations to determine the parameters of any electro-mechanical systems
