Mr. Ali wants to modify his normal bike to be an electric bike. He has the following specifications in mind;  -Maximum speed : 7.2km/h ( 2m/s).  -Wheel diameter : 0.4m  As a preparation, he has purchased a sensor to measure wheel’s rotational speed, a Raspberry Pi as a controller, DC series motor that drives the wheel and 24V battery. With his knowledge in mechatronics, he considers this, as engineering problems. Thus, he needs to figure out the design and control variables of his soon-to-be an electric bike. With the aid of the control diagram in Figure Q1, answer the following questions.   En. Ali ingin mengubahsuai basikal biasa kepada basikal elektrik. Basikal yang ingin diubahsuai mempunyai spesifikasi seperti berikut, -Kelajuan maksima 7.2km/j -Ukuran rentas  roda 0.4m  Sebagai persediaan, beliau telah membeli penderia untuk mengesan laju putaran roda, sebuah Raspberry Pi sebagai pengawal, motor AT bersiri sebagai pemacu roda dan bateri 24V. Dengan pengetahuan dalam bidang mekatronik, beliau menganggap ianya sebagai masalah kejuruteraan. Oleh itu, beliau perlu meneliti pembolehubah rekabentuk dan kawalan terhadap basikal elektriknya itu. If the wheel rotates at 10 RPM (rotational per minute), what is the speed of the bike in m/s?  Kira jarak yang dilalui oleh basikal tersebut untuk satu pusingan roda lengkap. Apakah halaju basikal tersebut dalam m/s jika roda berputar pada kadar 10 PPM (putaran per minit)? (20 marks/markah)  [e] The bike is set to travel at 7.2km/h. What would be the value of reference input? Assuming the controller produces no error, what is the value of control variable? (25 marks/markah)  [f] The Raspberry Pi operates at 3.3 volts DC, suggest a  suitable component   that can be used to interface with the motor that runs on 24V DC.  Raspberry Pi beroperasi pada voltan 3.3 volt AT , cadangkan komponen yang sesuai digunakan sebagai pengantaramuka dengan motor yang menggunakan 24V AT.   (5 marks/markah)  [g] Given that the DC motor has the following specifications: torque constant kt  3Nm / A , voltage constant kv  0.2V / rpm , terminal resistance of 1.2 Ω and armature resistance of 0.2 Ω. The input supply to the motor is 24 V. Draw the motor equivalent circuit and calculate the input current (I) and the torque (T) produced by the motor if the bike travels at 7.2 km/h.  Sekiranya motor AT tersebut mempunyai nilai kt  3Nm / A , kv  0.2V / rpm, rintangan merentasi terminal ialah 1.2 Ω dan rintangan angker sebanyak 0.2 Ω. Nilai voltan masukan kepada motor sebanyak 24V. Lukiskan litar setara motor dan kira arus masukan (I) dan daya kilas (T) yang dihasilkan oleh motor jika basikal bergerak pada kelajuan 7.2km/j.  (35 marks/ markah)           [EMC 311] -4- …5/- Q2. A manufacturing company wishes to upgrade the production process from manual to semi-automated using pneumatic systems. The existing processes use two operators; one for stamping the product and the other for picking and placing the stamped product in a bucket.  As an engineer in the company, you need to propose a mechanism that replaces the manual processes. After brainstorming with your colleagues, the system design utilizes the following components as listed in      Table Q2,  Satu syarikat pembuatan berhasrat untuk menaiktaraf proses pengeluaran dari insani kepada separuh-automatik dengan menggunakan sistem pneumatik. Proses asal menggunakan dua pekerja; seorang pekerja menekap produk dan seorang lagi mengangkat produk yang telah ditekap ke dalam sebuah bakul. Sebagai jurutera di syarikat tersebut, anda perlu mencadangkan mekanisma untuk menggantikan proses insani tersebut. Cylinder 1 is a single acting cylinder that is used to stamp the product. Draw a pneumatic circuit with complete symbols that uses hand-triggered valve to activate the cylinder. Upon activation, cylinder 1 extends and then stamps the product and returns after stamping. Based on your proposed circuit, briefly explained how the system works.  Rajah S2 menunjukkan gambarajah yang dicadangkan bagi satu sistem spara-automatik. Selinder 1 merupakan sebuah selinder tindakan tunggal yang digunakan untuk menekap produk. Lukis skematik pendawaian yang dilengkapi dengan simbol menggunakan injap picuan tangan untuk mengaktifkan selinder tersebut. Apabila ianya diaktifkan, selinder 1 memanjang dan seterusnya menekap produk dan kembali selepas penekapan. Terangkan secara ringkas berdasarkan cadangan litar yang kamu cadangkan. (35 marks/markah)  [d] In Figure Q2, when the product reaches cylinder 2 home position, the operator triggers a second valve. Cylinder 2 brings the product down from its home position and eventually the air nozzle blows the product into the bucket. Assuming cylinder 2 is a double-acting cylinder; draw a pneumatic circuit with complete symbols that uses a solenoid valve to activate the cylinder. Base on your proposed circuit, briefly explained how the system works.    Dalam Rajah S2, apabila produk tiba di posisi asal selinder 2, pekerja memicu injap kedua. Selinder 2 membawa turun produk yang kemudiannya ditiup masuk ke dalam bakul aleh muncung angin. Dengan menganggap selinder 2 sebagai selinder tindakan berganda, lukiskan litar pneumatik berserta simbol yang dilengkapi dengan injap picuan elektronik untuk mengaktifkan selinder. [a] State and explain THREE (3) types of memory that exists in a programmable logic controller.  Nyatakan dan terangkan TIGA (3) jenis memori yang terdapat dalam sebuah pengawal logik boleh aturcara. (20 marks/markah)  [b] A programmable logic controller (PLC) is used to control a conveyor. The conveyor is actuated by an AC induction motor. A relay is used to interface the motor to the PLC. The PLC is also connected to a NPN proximity sensor and a switch.  Sebuah pengawal logik bolehaturcara (PLC) diguna bagi mengawal sebuah penghantar. Penghantar tersebut digerakkan oleh satu motor aruhan AC. Sebuah geganti diguna bagi mengantaramukakan motor tersebut kepada PLC. PLC tersebut juga disambung kepada satu penderia penghampiran NPN dan satu suis.  [i] Draw the electric circuits to connect the PLC with the sensor, switch and relay. Draw also the electric circuit connecting the relay and the motor.  Lukis litar-litar elektrik bagi menyambungkan PLC tersebut dengan penderia, suis dan geganti tersebut. Lukis juga litar electric menyambungkan geganti dan motor tersebut. (30 marks/markah)  [ii] Draw a ladder diagram to be loaded into the PLC to activate the conveyor when only the switch is ON or only the sensor is detecting an object. The red LED will light up for 1 second when switch A is pressed. The green LED will light up for 2 seconds when switch B is pressed. The yellow led will light up for 3 seconds when both switches are pressed. The red, green and yellow LEDs are connected to pins 23, 24 and 25 respectively. The switches A and B are connected to pins 17 and 18 respectively.   Tulis satu aturcara python untuk sebuah pengawal-mikro Raspberry Pi bagi mengawal tiga LED menggunakan dua suis. LED merah akan menyala selama 1 saat bila susz A ditekan. LED hijau akan menyala selama 2 saat bila suiz B ditekan. LED kuning akan menyala selama 3 saat bila kedua-dua suis ditekan. LED merah, hijau dan kuning masing-masing disambung kepada pin 23, 24 dan 25. Suis  A dan B masing-masing disambung kepada pin 17 dan 18. (i) Determine the power input to the motor. (ii) Calculate the power loss in the armature.  (iii)  Calculate the torque generated at the given speed. Construct a table showing the switching sequence that required for completing one revolution in eight switching step. Calculate the digital input rate required to obtain a rotation speed of 12 revolutions per second. (20 marks/markah)  [b] A programmable logic controller (PLC) is used to control a feeder delivering work pieces one by one when a PNP proximity sensor detects a metal container. The feeder uses a single acting pneumatic cylinder and a double acting pneumatic cylinder as shown in Figure Q3[b].  Sebuah pengawal logik bolehaturcara (PLC) diguna bagi mengawal sebuah penyuap menghantar bahan kerja satu demi satu bila sebuah penderia penghampiran megesan sebuah bekas logam. Penyuap tersebut menggunakan silinder pneumatik tindakan tunggal dan silinder pneumatik tindakan berganda seperti ditunjukkan dalam Rajah S3[b].
