The Relationship between Anxiety Caused by Corona, Spiritual Health and Resilience of Nurses Working in the Care Departments of Covid-19 Patients in the Hospitals of North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences

Abstract

Background: The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between anxiety caused by corona, spiritual health and resilience of nurses in caring for COVID-19 patients in the hospitals of North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences. Materials and Method: The current study is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study that was conducted with the participation of 247 nurses working in the care departments of patients with COVID-19 in hospitals affiliated to North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences. This research was conducted in the early period of June 2022 until September 2022. The research tools include a questionnaire to check the demographic characteristics of the participants, a questionnaire for the anxiety scale of COVID -19, a questionnaire for the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and a questionnaire for measuring spiritual health for Iranian society. After collecting the data, they were analyzed with SPSS version 19 statistical software. Results: In the present study, 79.8% were female. The average anxiety score of the participants from COVID -19 was 6.17±5.13, the average spiritual health score was 164.21±43.51, and the average resilience score is 60.76±16.97. There was a statistically significant relationship between the average score of resilience of the participants and the average score of their spiritual health. (P=0.005). Conclusion: Nurses are among the vulnerable groups against diseases, especially emerging diseases and epidemics. Therefore, nursing officials and managers should pay more attention to their physical, mental, social and spiritual health in these situations, because the health of other sections of the society depends on the health of health and treatment group
