Principal Formsof Increasing Real Wages in the USSR

Abstract

In. a socialist economy, the most important result of a continuous rise in labor productivity and in the production of the society is that the real income of the workers systematically increases. Between 1940 and 1958, the real income of the workers and employees of our country has more or less doubled, and at the present time is many times higher than it was in 1913. A further substantial rise in the real income of the workers is being planned for the sevenyear period that has just started. The control figures for the development of the national economy of the USSR during 1959 -1965 call for an average 4~ increase in the real income of the individual worker. The realization of this goal will help to raise the prosperity level of our people to a height inaccessible to capitalism.
