The purpose of this article is to put the Chanson de Roland translation, called O Cantar de Roldão, on the screen of judgment, carried out by the author of this paper as a doctoral dissertation by the Universidade Estadual de Londrina, presented in the year 2019. To this end, it establishes a reflection on the literary tradition that started with Chanson de Roland at the end of the 11th century, in its prototypical form, originating from an oral tradition that sang the Carolingian dynasty, in contrast to the evolution and transcendence that this tradition found in Latin America and Brazil. In this sense, it first presents the origin of this tradition; then, her settings in Brazil; and concludes with the presentation of the translation proposal as a synthesis between the archetype and the typical national, through openness and conservatism. Finally, the work presents the comparison of the first series of singing among the most traditional European editions, a recognized translation into Spanish and a Brazilian translation, followed by the translate on screen, so that the reader can evaluate, in terms of the opening and the conservatism, the poetic result of the work.O presente artigo tem por finalidade colocar em tela de juízo a tradução da Chanson de Roland, denominada O Cantar de Roldão, realizada por Autor como Tese de doutoramento pela Universidade XXXXXXX, defendida no ano de XXXXX. Para isso, estabelece uma reflexão acerca da tradição literária iniciada com a Chanson de Roland já no final do século XI, em sua forma prototípica, originada de uma tradição oral que cantava a dinastia carolíngia, em contraste com a evolução e a transcendência que essa tradição encontra na América Latina e no Brasil. Nesse sentido, apresenta primeiro a origem dessa tradição; em seguida, as configurações dela no Brasil; e conclui com a apresentação da proposta de tradução como uma síntese entre o arquétipo e o típico nacional, por abertura e conservadorismo. Finalmente, o trabalho apresenta o cotejo da primeira série do cantar entre as mais tradicionais edições europeias, uma reconhecida tradução em espanhol e uma retradução brasileira, seguidas da proposta tradutológica em tela, a fim de que o leitor avalie, nos termos da abertura e do conservadorismo, o resultado poético do trabalho.
