This research was prompted by the imperative to understand the process of integrating herbal medicines into the national market, with a focus on exploring the involvement of stakeholders from the North region and the incorporation of Amazonian medicinal species. The study commenced with the selection of 33 native species with geographic distribution throughout the State of Amazonas. Subsequently, the products available in the national market derived from these plants were identified and categorized into two groups: 1. industrially manufactured herbal medicines regulated by Anvisa; and 2. herbal medicines compounded by master pharmacies and supplements regulated by a set of non-pharmaceutical legislation, marketed online. Twenty variables were categorized into four groups: Commercial data; Composition; Quantities; and Pharmacology. Among the 153 products identified, 94.7% belonged to category 2, with guaraná emerging as the species with the highest number of industrially manufactured and compounded products/supplements recovered. The geographical distribution of companies primarily concentrated in the Southeast region of Brazil corroborates previous published analyses.Esta pesquisa foi motivada pela necessidade de se conhecer como os fitoterápicos são inseridos no mercado nacional, investigando a participação dos atores da Região Norte e a inclusão das espécies medicinais amazônicas. O estudo partiu da seleção de 33 espécies nativas com distribuição geográfica pelo Estado do Amazonas. Em seguida, foram levantados os produtos disponíveis no mercado nacional derivados dessas plantas, elencados em duas categorias: 1. fitoterápicos industrializados regulados pela Anvisa; e 2. fitoterápicos manipulados por farmácias magistrais e suplementos regulados por um conjunto de legislações não farmacêuticas, comercializadas no mercado virtual. Vinte variáveis foram subdivididas em quatro grupos: dados comerciais; composição; quantidades; e farmacologia. Dos 153 produtos identificados, 94,7% pertencem à categoria 2, sendo o guaraná (Paullinia cupana) a espécie com o maior número de produtos industrializados e manipulados/suplementos recuperados. A distribuição geográfica das empresas está concentrada na Região Sudeste do Brasil, corroborando análises anteriores publicadas.
