Abstract
The word "dyslexia" has been used since 100 years ago for describing asevere difficulty in reading and spelling. Since 1887 severa/ neuropsychological hypothesis and theories about dyslexia have been proposed. Their aim is to explain why many children do not learn to read,and to propase a rationale for diagnosing and treating the dyslexias. Desde esa época se han planteado diversas hipótesis y teorías neuropsicológicas que intentan explicar por qué muchos niños no aprenden a leer y al mismo tiempo buscan otorgar una base racional para su diagnóstico y tratamiento. Este trabajo describe los principales hitos que han seguido las investigaciones sobre dislexias, y hace un análisis crítico de los principales resultados obtenidos y sus proyeccione
