1 archivo PDF (14 páginas)La poesía y el pensamiento de Tomás Segovia se ceñían en gran medida a los causes del Romanticismo, un movimiento que sentía era nuestro “verdadero clasicismo”, es decir, la fuente fundamental de nuestro modo de ver el mundo. Una poesía y un pensamiento que se continúan una en el otro, como, además, suponía que debía ser la poesía, la que se escribe y también se vive, la que expresa el verdadero yo de la historia que está siempre fuera de la historia escrita. Una poesía que es, a la vez, iluminación, instrumento de conocimiento y pasión amorosa. En su visión del mundo, opone a la poesía pura –juego formal que pospone, como en la teoría derridiana, cualquier sentido, pues lo hace secundario– la poesía vivida, órfica, y sobre ésta construyó una manera de pensar y de vivir, una manera de comprender el sentido de la vida. Tomás Segovia’s poetry and thinking revolved around Romanticism to a large degree. This was a movement which he considered to be the “true classicism”, that is, the fundamental inspiration for our way of viewing the world. His poetry and thought reflect each other, or more precisely, one absorbs and becomes the other, such as he believed it ought to be. Poetry –both the one we write and the one we experience in our lives– expresses the real self of History, which is always absent from mere written history. Poetry is, all at once, enlightenment, an instrument of knowledge and expression of passionate love. In Segovia’s worldview, he opposed pure poetry –a formal game that postpones meaning, such as in Derrida’s theory, making it into something accessory– to the living, orphic poetry, and he built upon the latter a way of thinking and living, a way of understanding the meaning of life.
