Abstract

International audienceMilitant atheism marked the XXth century. The sense of the absurd largely fulled literature from Sartre to Camus including Beckett. Surrealism was a rebellion against the established order and God. Literary rules were questioned. For lack of transcendence, art, politics, love and adventure were sacralised. However some great christian writers have resisted, mainly in poetry
