O uso de animais surgiu para o estudo dos sistemas fisiológicos. Atualmente, no Brasil este é aprovado em atividades científicas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar métodos alternativos de animais em pesquisa, a partir de revisão bibliográfica. O animal demonstra reações como um organismo completo, promovendo avanços na saúde. Sendo utilizado com ética, quando impactantes na comunidade. Os métodos alternativos baseiam-se nos 3R’s (refinar, reduzir e substituir), notando-se o esforço dos cientistas em reduzir o uso de animais, refinando pesquisas. A distância filogenética do humano leva a predição limitada, tendo a alternativa de cultura de células humanas, sendo vantajosa quanto ao custo, já que pesquisa em animais exige maior estrutura. O uso errôneo de animais oferece sofrimento, sendo necessária conscientização que todas as formas de vida são dignas de respeito.ANALYSE OF ALTERNATIVE MEANS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF ANIMAL MODELS IN RESEARCHThe use of animals emerged for the study of physiological systems. The phylogenetic distance of the human leads to limited prediction, having the alternative of culturing human cells, being advantageous in terms of cost, since research in animals requires bigger structure.
