Dr. Mody talkedabout how important it is tohave good mentors and howthey encouraged her to succeed in this field.When asked what adviceshe has for women pursuing amedical career, Dr. Mody said“treat everyone with respect,be honest and be nice to peo-ple. Although theycame from different back-grounds and have differentmedical specialties, all ofthem went through similar difficulties in their successfulquest to become doctors.All the speakers completedpregnancies while doing theirresidency and accomplishedthe challenge of balancing fam-ily and career responsibilities.These physicians have openeddoors to women in the medicalfield and helped create a betterenvironment to work in thespecialty they chose.The traveling exhibitionhas been made possible byThe National Library ofMedicine and the Institutes ofHealth Office of Research onWomen's Health. The MedicalWomen's Association pro-vided additional support.Funding for the Libraryprograms was provided byThe Methodist Hospital. Her previous position was as an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education(ORISE) Fellow at the Public Health Library andInformation Center at theCenters for Disease Control(CDC) and Prevention, AtlantaGA.
