This article details the major pollutants from motor vehicle exhaust, mainly particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The emphasis is on motor vehicle emissions from diesel powered engines, which have become a significant source of air pollution in urban areas.
