Paper which has as object to transmit the experience about the conformation of a hemispherical network of specialized information, particularly the activities held at national level. In the first part it describes the main characteristics of the system and then states advantages, challenges, compromises and difficulties, that presents the fact of being part of a cooperative project, but also the importance of the communication within the network and outside of it , and the projection of SIDALC.
