As we know that Indonesia is a multicultural country, it effects on the way Indonesians use the languages
variously. Not only does it influence on the way Indonesians communicate to each other in daily life, but
also it influences on the way Indonesians create a literary works. The aim of this study is to present the
influence of multicultural society of non- English speaking country and to describe how the effects exist in
a literary works, in this case a song. Some Indonesian songs that contain the existence of code-switching
and code-mixing were taken as the data of the study. The data were taken from the songs from 2012-2015.
They are described and then analyzed using sociolinguistics approach, especially code switching and code
mixing. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative by which the objects and data are analyzed
to show what happens and in what ways the multicultural society influence on literary works nowadays
