Skin Colour Information and Morphology Based Face Detection Technique

Abstract

Locating and tracking human faces is a prerequisite for face recognition and/or facial\ud expressions analysis, although it is often assumed that a normalized face image is available. In\ud this paper, we propose a faster, yet efficient face detection approach based on mathematical\ud morphology and skin colour information. We have devised some simple post-processing rules to\ud eliminate non-face regions from face regions. Experimentation on our created database is\ud conducted to reveal the performance of the proposed approach
