PRINCIPLES OF DESIGNING OF FRINGING ELECTRIC FIELD SENSORS IN THE PRESENCE OF A TOP GROUND PLANE BOUNDING

Abstract

Designing principles of fringing electric field (FEF) sensors in the presence of a top ground plane bounding are considered. The analysis of characteristics, such as of penetration depth, working capacity, sensitivity to anisotropy of dielectric properties is given. Qualitative principles of designing are described, recommendations for optimizations of designs are given
