The 14th EC2 Conference will be held at cemmap (IFS and University College London), 12-13 December 2003. (EC)
2 is a series of annual international conferences on research in quantitative economics and econometrics. The first 
conference in the series was organised in 1990, the last one in Bologna in 2002. The acronym (EC)2 stands for 
European Conferences of the Econom[etr]ics Community. The main aim of these conferences is to provide a 
convenient forum for both senior and junior European researchers in quantitative economics and econometrics to 
discuss their research results. The theme of the 2003 conference is ENDOGENEITY, INSTRUMENTS AND 
IDENTIFICATION IN ECONOMETRICS. The invited speakers are: Frank Kleibergen (University of Amsterdam), 
Charles Manski (Northwestern University), Whitney Newey (MIT), James Stock (Harvard University). We invite the 
submission of papers related to the theme of the conference. The deadline for submission is 1st October 2003. To 
submit a paper, please send it as a PDF file to with the name of the potential presenter in the subject line of the email, 
or send a hard copy to Geert Dhaene at the address given below. Electronic submissions are encouraged. Authors will 
be notified regarding acceptance or rejection by 1st November 2003. Papers are accepted either for oral presentation
