Following the tradition of PLS''99 in Jouy-en-Josas (France) and PLS''01 in Capri (Italy), we would like to invite you 
to participate in the 3rd International Symposium on PLS (Partial Least Squares) and Related Methods (PLS''03) – 
“Focus on Customers” that will take place on September 15th -17th, 2003, in Lisbon (Portugal). PLS''03 is a unique 
event where the most outstanding reference scientists and experts in PLS methods, from all over the world, will meet. 
In the three days of the Conference you will see the application of PLS and related methods in several different areas 
of interest. The symposium aims to cover both the theoretical and the application aspects of PLS, presenting the state-
of-art and the most challenging developments demanded for the future. Therefore the symposium is addressed to 
people who are interested in either the methodological aspects or the application potentialities of the PLS methods – 
“Focus on Customers”. Please find enclosed the first announcement (call for papers) of the Conference that is already
