Extending the boundaries of nerve ultrasonography in regional anaesthesia

Abstract

We have shown that there are limitations to the interpretation of ultrasound imaging in regional anesthesia, which were found to be related to technical factors of ultrasound imaging, to the level of physician experience and skill and to anatomical factors including the nerve itself. We explored these limitations or boundaries to be able to extend the full potential of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia. These limitations are addressed
