Los estudios que desde fines del siglo XIX se vienen ocupando de las realizaciones románicas vascongadas y, muy especialmente, los avances producidos en la investigación desde mediados de esta centuria, sientan hoy las bases para acercarse al significado y alcance de las realizaciones en estos territorios. En este estudio se trata de ofrecer un panorama de conjunto y un proyecto de ordenación que permita integrar sus principaless manifestaciones en el contexto del románico peninsular. El esquema atiende tanto a las muestras de un románico monumental, como al románico más popular o inercial y, finalmente, al solapamiento con las fórmulas góticas. Trata al tiempo de llamar la atención sobre indudable interés que posee el románico vascongado como ejemplo de las complejas evoluciones arquitectónicas de los períodos históricos expansivosXIX. mendearen amaieratik Euskadiko erainkuntza buruz eginiko azterlanek eta, guztiz modu berezian, mende honen erdialdetik egin diren aurrerapenak lurralde horietako eraikuntzen esanahiaz eta garrantziz jabetzeko oinarriak ezarri dituzte. Aldi berean, euskal erromanikoak aldi historiko hedakorrean eboluzio konplexuen adibide gisa duen interesaz ohartarazi nahi da lan honen bidezThe studies on the Basque Romanesque from the end of the XIX century and, especially, the achievements of research since 1950 lay the foundations for approaching today the meaning and scope of the Romanesque monuments of this area. This paper offers a panoramic and a sitematic arrangement of buildings in order to place the Basque Romanesque architecture in the general flow of Spanish Romanesque. The outline includes the best examples of a monumental Romanesque, together with those of a more popular or rural trend, or with those that show the overlapping produced by the late arrival of Gothic formulas. It tries to call the attention about the interest of the Basque Romanesque architecture as a model of the complex development of architecture in expansionist period
