Higgs searches at LHC

Abstract

A crucial point of the Standard Model (SM) is the Higgs mechanism. The Higgs particle has however so far eluded experimental detection. The Higgs search at the LHC is therefore a key step to establish the validity of the SM. The purpose of this presentation is to outline the most significant channels used for the SM Higgs search at the LHC, and to illustrate the analysis strategies developed to this end by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations
