The Society for the Study of Economic Inequality (ECINEQ) joint with the Department of Applied Economics of the 
UNIVERSITAT DE LES ILLES BALEARS announce the I ECINEQ SUMMER SCHOOL on “NEW 
PERSPECTIVES ON THE STUDY OF INEQUALITY, POVERTY AND REDISTRIBUTION” that will be held in 
Palma de Mallorca, Spain, July 17-21, 2006 INVITED SPEAKERS: Anthony Atkinson (Nuffield College Oxford), 
François Bourguignon (World Bank), John Roemer (Yale University) The course will be offered to a number of 
selected students and reserachers interested in the design of public policies and the analysis of their effects on 
inequality, poverty and redistribution. The course''s goal is to provide an extensive revision of what has been done on 
the subject and to open new paths for future research.
