LANDSAT 4 i s  c u r r e n t l y  i n  a c i r c u l a r  Sun-synchronous o r b i t  wi th  o r b i t a l  
parameters of 699 km x 7 0 1  km x 98 degrees i n c l i n a t i o n .  The o r b i t a l  p e r i o d  i s  
99 minutes .  LANDSAT 5 w a s  launched i n t o  a n e a r l y  i d e n t i c a l  o r b i t  wi th  pa ram-  
eters of  7 0 5  km x 705 km x 98.2 degrees.

C. COVERAGE 
1. Coverage Goals 
The DSN will support LANDSAT 4 or 5 during emergencies that would 
prevent satellite-to-Earth communications using the standard TDRSS-White Sands 
data link. The DSN 26-meter antenna subnetwork would support these emergency 
situations.
