Abstract

We present a comparison between two numerical methods for the extrapolation of nonlinear force-free magnetic fields, the Iterative Method (IM) and the Progressive Extension Method (PEM). The advantages and disadvantages of these two methods are summarized and the accuracy and numerical instability are discussed.
