There have been two main types of studies on social influences on perception. The first type of study has not been concerned with social influences on perception per se, but has attempted to discover the personality factors which influence perception. Most of the work in this area has been done by Bruner (4,5,6,7,24) and Postman (6,7, 24,26) and collaboraters. A survey of the literature of this field is contained in the volume by Blake and Ramsey (3)
