Universidad de Oviedo. Escuela de Ingeniería Informática
Abstract

implementar.SUMMARY -- The University of Oviedo, like many other universities,
as a consequence of the adaptation of its Bachelor's
Degrees to the European Higher Education Area2
(EHEA), also known as the "Bologna Process", finds
itself with the obligation of incorporating into its
academic offer a compulsory subject, already known
as the Undergraduate Thesis (UT) in the engineering
Degrees, which makes reference to the name of the
Degrees themselves.
The University of Oviedo is not unaware of this
problem, and it found the need to speed up, process
and safeguard the information contained in these
works in a centralized and agile way, because we
must bear in mind that they have a very limited
timeframe for deadlines and defense per course and
call. Moreover, there are a number of players in the
process: the student, the tutor or tutors, the administrative
staff of the Centre, the committee of the Undergraduate
Thesis, and, finally, its thesis committee.
Once the Undergraduate Thesis has been defended,
the work must be stored safely for any possible quality
audits, the ANECA, and even to establish statistics
and markers. This article will show how, through a repository of
documents, a workflow and a system of signatures
recognized in the University itself (electronic signature,
login/password), which is also connected to the
back-offices, the management of the UTs of the
different university centres will be able to be carried
out in a secure, efficient and remote way.
In order to set in motion this system, the pilot case of
the Degree in Computer Science Engineering was
used as its basic pattern, since it had a great deal of
experience in the Management of the Undergraduate
Theses, it had certain tools to support the management
of the UTs and because it can be used by users
as a system for validation and test of the model to be
established
