O desenvolvimento deste breve artigo constrói-se num percurso de discussão e reflexão teóricas das questões gerais
inerentes às recentes tendências pós-modernas da evolução do pensamento geográfico, e do seu reflexo na
metodologia e conceptualização a que recorrem os principais académicos dos estudos urbanos para o estudo da
gentrificação. Procurar-se-á, assim, interpretar este tema da geografia urbana equacionando-o sob o signo dos
posicionamentos normativos gerais deste movimento explicativo da realidade sócio-espacial no âmbito da
Epistemologia da Geografia e ainda da Filosofia da Ciência em geral.ENG: The development of this article is based on the discussion and theoretical reflection about the general issues related to the recent postmodern
trends regarding the evolution of geographical thought and of its repercussion on the methodology and conceptualisation in the
study of gentrification. We intend to interpret this theme of urban geography within the framework of the general normative positions of
this movement that explains the social and spatial reality in the scope of the Epistemology of Geography and the Philosophy of Science in
